Rembrandt Lighting
Rembrandt lighting, which was created by the dutch painter Rembrandt, is a style of photography for creating portraits. This technique includes the face included to have one side of the face fully illuminated and the other half having a small triangle of light on the opposite cheek that is no taller than the nose and no wider than the eye. Also, the person should be looking toward the light to capture the light within their eyes. The one light projected should be 45 degrees away from the camera if the person was the center of the circle. The light should be about five feet away from the person and about two feet above their eye level. This style of lighting is one of the most basic styles and also brings a dramatic effect by mixing light and shadows.
